Front-End Web Designer

We’re looking for an extremely talented, creative, designer with a passion for user experience, pixel perfection, and the latest in semantic markup.

About the Position

Search Discovery is looking for a Web Designer to join our interactive team. You’ll be tasked with designing front-end web designs and developing semantic, responsive HTML5/CSS3 markup, with a focus on delivering great experiences on a wide range of devices. Our office is located in Midtown.

Our current customers include Chick-Fil-A, Pergo, DOW, Discovery Networks and more. Responsibilities

• Developing wireframes and site maps
• Designing front-end comps in Photoshop
• Implementing your designs using HTML5/CSS3 and other front-end technologies
• Designing and developing banner ads for various marketing campaigns
• Maintaining internal design projects and properties

We need someone who is:

• Experienced with web design
• An expert designer (Photoshop and Illustrator)
• Passionate about clean, semantic markup (HTML5, CSS3, LESS)
• Familiar with of the concepts of Responsive Web Design and Mobile First Design
• A stickler for the small details
• Passionate about layout, color and typography
• Friendly and able to play well with others
• Well-written and able to communicate clearly
• A Mac-nerd like the rest of us

We’d like it if you

• Are familiar with CMS like WordPress and Expression Engine
• Are acquainted with but not necessarily proficient in back-end technologies like PHP
• Have experience writing jQuery, JS, and/or AJAX
