Introducing Google Analytics Premium

Search Discovery is very excited about today's announcement for two main reasons. Number one, we have been in the pilot program and it is a very exciting day to be able to talk to the rest of the world about this more openly. Number two, we are very excited about this because we are an agency that works hard every day to improve their businesses online and we feel this product is a really well designed one with a great roadmap and we can use it as an agency not just to help people get data, but to help people to actually use the data and improve their business. It brings a lot of power to the table for sites that have large data needs, it brings some service to the table for people who want to be able to contact somebody to get some help on this tool, it brings some guarantees and some legal language that people are very excited about when it comes to this tool, and it brings an amazing roadmap of features to help us work with clients to get more out of their websites and improve them over time.
Google Analytics Premium is going to look very familiar if you are a user of the standard edition of the tool. The interface will share all the same elements, and of course the extended tools and some of the betas that premium customers will have access to will show up as additional items in the interface, but if you have used Google Analytics before or enjoy its simplicity but its depth, you will be right at home with Premium.
So upgrading to premium from the standard edition of Google Analytics is a very simple process. You would call your reseller or Google and get the contracts in place, you can work with the exact same profile that you have in place and the implementation, you can use the implementation you have in place. Of course, you have more things you can implement with premium, so if you want to go ahead and start filling those extra custom variables and getting more out of the tool, go right ahead and layer on your existing implementation, but the upgrade is a very simple process.
Google Analytics Certified Partners are a group of people that google has tested and vetted to say that they can support Google Analytics for businesses that are trying to get the most out of the tool both on the technical side and in analysis and the Certified partners are going to be resellers. We were lucky to be in the pilot program in the first wave of these releases and get early access and insight into Google Analytics Premium.
Satellite is an implementation technology. It fits into the field of tag management, but we feel that tag management really describes the infrastructure when what we are talking about is data management, so satellite is designed to help empower analysts and markers to to take control of that effort and to get tags or data process on the website more quickly with less overhead. And, satellite is very good in the case of Google analytics as people explore this opportunity because people might be hesitant that they are going to put as much effort into installing this tool as they have installed other tools in the past. this technology really helps them cut down on that effort and get this thing live on their site in a matter of weeks instead of months.
