The Case of the Automated Remedy: Apollo + Our AA via AEP Web SDK Extension

What are some of the best duos of all time—two things so perfect together you can’t imagine a time when they weren’t known as a unit? Batman and Robin? Peanut butter and jelly? Sherlock and Watson?

I’m here to introduce the best new duo around: Apollo and the AA via AEP Web SDK extension!

Announcing a new power duo: Apollo and the AA via AEP Web SDK

We’ve spoken a lot about how Apollo, the world’s first Analytics Management System, automates and improves analytics processes by interconnecting implementation components and leveraging best practices. And for years, Apollo has helped organizations manage their Adobe Analytics implementations leveraging the traditional AppMeasurement library.

But last week, we announced the new AA via AEP Web SDK extension, a new solution for capturing Adobe Analytics data through Web SDK. We discussed how this extension allows you to leverage the benefits of AEP for your Adobe Analytics implementation without needing to learn technical AEP configurations.

Now, I’m pleased to tell you that you can perform an easier-than-ever Web SDK implementation for Adobe Analytics using the AA via AEP Web SDK extension configured by Apollo!

If your organization has Adobe Analytics and is interested in AEP, if your technical teams are trying to improve page speed, or if your analytics team is stretched and looking for help maintaining your Adobe Analytics implementation, this is the perfect duo for you. Apollo helps teams future-proof and automate maintenance for their analytics implementation.

Let’s track down how to make this solution work for you.

How new Apollo users migrate to AEP Web SDK for Adobe Analytics

  1. Start by selecting the Adobe Analytics (WebSDK) implementation type when creating your Apollo property.image7 2
  2. Design your implementation in Apollo as you would for a traditional Adobe Analytics implementation. You can map an existing implementation, which allows you to import your existing solution design and/or choose to enable any of the thousands of pre-designed business requirements.
  3. Review all the documentation Apollo has programmatically created and manages for you, including your Data Layer, SDR, and Testing Reports.
  4. Within the Adobe Experience Platform, create a Datastream and XDM schema leveraging the Adobe Analytics ExperienceEvent Field Group.
  5. Deploy your Apollo implementation. Deploying to Data Destination will configure your AA report suite variables. Deploying to Tag Manager will ensure that your analytics rules in Adobe Data Collection are configured leveraging the AEP Web SDK and AA via AEP Web SDK extensions instead of the old Adobe Analytics extension!image1 4
  6. Validate your analytics tags. Apollo automates data layer validation.

And the best part? You can continue to leverage Apollo to manage your implementation on an ongoing basis as your analytics needs change over time.

How existing Apollo users migrate to AEP Web SDK for Adobe Analytics

If you are an existing Apollo user for Adobe Analytics, you can migrate to the new implementation type for free! We wrote an in-depth article on how to perform this migration.

At this point, you can say confidently that you’ve cracked the case of how to migrate to Web SDK for Adobe Analytics!
