Five years after it’s launch, the Google TV Ads product is ending. On Thursday, August 30th, Google announced the close of Google TV Ads, citing the evolution of technology & media as the cause for moving away from TV and a renewed focus on digital video advertising solutions.
Current TV campaigns are running unaffected, but as the product sunsets, Google TV service teams will transition to other areas of Google. TV Ads will continue to be in effect until the end of the year, with reduced service levels beginning on October 1, 2012. This means there will no longer be representatives to assist with TV campaigns after September 30th. The Google TV Ads product will continue to run until the end of the year as a self-service product.
