The Best New Technology Quantie was made for products like Apollo!
Next week, the Digital Analytics Association (DAA) will hold its annual OneConference to bring together digital analytics industry experts and celebrate advancements in the digital analytics field. Part of this conference is the Quanties, which are awards given to people and organizations that have been recognized by their industry peers. We are excited and honored that the new technology we have been working on, the Apollo Analytics Management System, has been named as a finalist for Best New Technology. Conference attendees will vote for the finalist of their choice live, during the conference.
In this Quantie category, we are up against some other cool technologies. One is Predict ML by Tealium and the other is Claravine via USAA. While I have not used it, the Tealium Predict ML product looks really cool and who doesn’t love machine learning? I have had more experience with Claravine (having been a board member) and love what they are doing for data governance.
Without lobbying too hard, I would, though, like to make the case for why I think Apollo represents the best choice in this important Quantie award category.

If you take a step back from the day to day of our industry, digital analytics is only as good as the value it brings to each organization. If your organization has a bad digital analytics implementation, then everything else doesn’t really matter. I look at the analytics implementations like you would the foundation of a building. If it is weak, the entire thing can come crashing down. The Apollo Analytics Management System represents an entirely new way to build and maintain implementations based upon twenty years of best practices. It follows proven implementation approaches to make sure you have both the correct business questions and the best technical solution to answer those business questions. Many years ago, our industry saw a massive improvement in analytics implementations when Tag Management Systems revolutionized the way tagging was done. You would be hard-pressed to find organizations not using a Tag Management System today. Why? Because the old approach was antiquated and simply too cumbersome.
We believe that the same will be true when it comes to managing all of the other aspects of your digital analytics program.
REASON TWO: Apollo is a pioneering technology that makes analytics programs infinitely easier
Today, most organizations are managing their digital analytics program without identifying business questions ahead of time and using those business questions as the cornerstone of everything in their implementation. In addition, most organizations are managing solution designs, tagging specifications, data validation, tool administration settings and reports as separate documents sitting on a file server or via disparate tools!
But all of the aspects of a digital analytics program are interconnected. If you decide to add a new business question, that means you need new data points, which need data layer elements, which need new analytics tool variables, which need tagging specifications, which need data validation, which then end up in reports and metrics. All of these implementation elements build upon each other, and Apollo is the first technology that leverages a unified platform and automation to manage these connections.
REASON THREE: Apollo shifts the paradigm/advances the entire analytics industry
Our industry is currently being held back by the fact that every organization has a completely unique and custom digital analytics implementation. That is an unsustainable model for any industry since it fails to leverage industry-wide best practices.
Can you imagine if every CRM customer were doing CRM differently? If every ERP customer were doing things differently? When every organization uses its own custom implementation, it increases the risk that it is not taking advantage of what has been learned over the years. It means that your implementation is only as good as your own team’s skill set and experience. As an industry, we should be spending our time and differentiating ourselves on how we best leverage our data, not wasting time continuously implementing and hoping that we know how to out-implement our competitors.
Apollo helps the entire digital analytics industry by providing best practices and standardization of digital analytics implementation and maintenance.
We have found that the interconnectedness and best practices Apollo provides allows users to rapidly iterate their digital analytics implementations, with increased quality, and spend more time driving value for the organization. Just like few organizations would implement without using a Tag Management System today, we believe that years from now, people will look back and wonder why they ever tried to manage their analytics program without an Analytics Management System.
Of course, we know that it often takes time for technology shifts like the one we are proposing with Apollo to take hold, which is why we hope that you will take some time to learn more about our Apollo Analytics Management System and consider voting for Apollo so we can help more organizations see how this technology can help improve our entire industry!
