GET TO KNOW JAMARIUS

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Take the squad on a transcontinental holiday.
What are two random facts about you?
  1. I have played the tuba for over a decade.
  2. I actually direct the Leisure Commitee here at Search Discovery. (an unofficial employee lead secret society, with three very real goals: fun, relaxation and friendship).
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Definitely some type of seafood dish like a Lowcountry boil or maybe even some surf and turf action.
Where is a place you’d love to travel someday?
London during Wimbledon would be cool.
Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
2014 BCS National Championship. I got to go to Pasadena and see the game in the Rose Bowl stadium, went to Disney Land. The best part is it was all free because I was in the band. The only thing that could have made it better is if Auburn had won.
What three traits define you?
Witty, Energetic, Nice or Sarcastic (depends).
What is something that you recently learned?
By using things like Google Cloud Functions, Node.js and puppeteer I can setup daily jobs to collect information I was collecting by hand (leaving more time for ping pong).
What is an important/cool trend you see in our industry today?
The need for privacy is really being taken seriously with GDPR and soon the CCPA. It makes the job a bit harder, but I also like that these things are here.
What 3 words would you use to describe Search Discovery?
Brilliant • Fun • Helpful.
Our purpose is to help people thrive. Describe a transformation you’ve experienced in your time at SDI?
Since starting at SDI I have gone from a college kid just trying to play a role here to being confident enough to take chances and attempt developing new processes and technology.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Search Discovery?
The people are truly the best. If I need help whether it be technically or just someone to bounce ideas off of, there is always someone around willing to give their time.
